Music Review: The last release from the successful combination of Ilayaraja and Fazil was Kannukkul Nilavu, way back in 2000. The masters return with Oru Naal Oru Kanavu, and for sure, the music is well worth the wait. Splendid performances by all the singers, especially Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghosal. I guess I'll never figure out how the singers who don't know Tamil manage to get the diction right only for Ilayaraja. Good music gets the appreciation it deserves only if the movie too becomes a hit. Illayaraja has delivered his best, and if Fazil too is in good form, this album has all it takes to become the best musical score of 2005.

Listened to all songs. Overall a good melodious album although I would say 'Kaatril varum geetham' is way above the other songs and in comparison the other songs seem just about average.

Great music! Wonderful album from the duo and good analysis! I agree with anonymous that Kaatril varum geetham is better than the rest.
