Music review: A disappointing fare from Harris Jayaraj, which doesn't even come close to the standards set by the hugely successful combination of Shankar and A.R.Rahman. Hope Shankar's picturization skills can somehow redeem the songs.

Really accurate review! Are you sure that you will not like these songs even after you hear them again and again?

I think 'Kadhal Yaanai' is the best of the album. The others may grow on us if we listen to it many times, but still I feel that this would rank as the worst musical score for a Shankar film. However, I think that those who would have bought the audio because of the hype would eventually end up liking most of the songs, making the music a hit. Watch out for reports on record music sales for this album.

Most of the links to the MP3s are not working for me. Could it be a proxy or firewall issue?

As you said, the music of Anniyan might not recreate magical of ARR & Shankar combo. But this album is bound to become a hit. I think the melodies and the folk songs are gonna become hits that Kadhal Yaanai and Kannum Kannum Nokia.

Finally listened to Anniyan songs. i would say that i did not miss much all these days. Especially after listening to music of movies like oru naal oru kanavu and Parineeta with such good tunes (these songs can actually be called music)and lyrics it is almost irritating to listen to the same old type of songs with loud jarring music and lyrics mixed with english and some other nonsense words.
